Wo-Man

A son of immigrants born into a western culture, in a country that was stolen from it's true owners, I have struggled over the years to know my true identity. Especially since the majority of us place so much importance on our visual identity.

The change of sexual identity you see was done with such ease, so I question why do we place so much importance on our sexual, racial, or aesthetic identities?

The start of my new work. I have more but i don't want to hog the blog!

I was watching Hot Chip's music clip"Ready For the Floor" the other day. The whole film clip is pretty crazy with explosions of psych-like colours everywhere. I particularly enjoyed the parts where bright coloured paint would splash across the black background (see film stills below). At first you would think it's just a blank canvas with nothing but after the paint you realise that there was something. This makes me think of the idea of that things can be overlooked because of our carelessness or ignorance, and it stimulates the need of appreciation. This gives me some BIG IDEAS.

I'm enjoying these. ha!
